The Role

The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Microcontrollers (MCUs) team is responsible for developing the embedded platform software that provides the foundation of our AV s . Our s oftware communicates with sensors, provides observability, enables vehicle operation, m anages system health, and more.

As a S enior Software Engineer on the AV MCU Platform team, you will play a vital role in the design , development , and deployment of embedded software for the A V . You will leverage your experience with complex embedded s ystem s to deliver highly impactful software , the foundation of world-class AV features and experiences . You will work cross functionally to extract an d deliv er on the needs of your stakeholders.

What You'll Do

• Design, Develop, and Test Embedded C software for Multi-Core Microcontrollers
• Develop within a n automotive embedded software stack (BSP, BSW, Application)
• Create pipelines, tooling, and delivery methods to ensure high-quality and efficient deployment cycles
• Work cross functionally to extract design requirements and stakeholder needs
• Work with the hardware team to review HW designs
• Work with the systems team to ensure delivery of systems, safety, and security requirements
• Mentor team members and facilitate cross-team collaboration to ensure overall team success
  
  

Your Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor D egree in STEM field o r re levant work experience
• 5 years of experience building and shipping production quality embedded software
• Strong background in C/C Embedded Software development
• Experience working with RTOS (such as QNX, FreeRTOS , OSEK, etc )
• Ability to adapt and operate under ambiguity, going from quick code prototypes to long-term plans on brief time horizons
• Excellent communication skills, capable of switching between high-level and detailed discussions
  
  

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge

• Experience with robotics, autonomous vehicles, automotive embedded systems , or ADAS development
• Experience working with AUTOSAR
• Experience working in a Safety Critical Embedded Software Environment (ISO 26262, DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E)
• Experience developing software that scales to millions of instances and managing it
  
  

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

• The salary range for this role is $154,420 to $235,900. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Warren Technical Center in Warren, MI or Mountain View three times per week, at minimum.
