As an Backend Software Engineer, you will design and build scalable, high-performance backend systems that support real-time interactions, transactions, and 24/7 availability. What You'll Do
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable backend designs
- Write clean, efficient, extensible, and maintainable code
- Own a large functional area with deep technical expertise
- Influence technical decisions across domain and partner teams
- Improve engineering productivity through best practices and tooling
- Design backend systems with flexibility to support evolving requirements
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality solutions
- Apply evidence-centered design to ensure testability, quality, and continuous delivery
- Manage features end-to-end, breaking work into tasks and resolving execution challenges
- Provide code reviews, architectural guidance, mentoring, and coaching
- Contribute to and review Architecture Decision Records (ADRs)
- Identify cross-system gaps, propose solutions, and help shape the engineering roadmap
- Participate in release management, production support, and on-call rotations for an always-on platform
- Strong experience with Java
- Spring Boot and backend system architecture
