Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field required; Master's degree or CPA designation preferred.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting.
  • Healthcare finance experience strongly prefered.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently, produce and interpret complex financial data, and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using healthcare decision support tools strongly preferred (Ex: Axiom, Kaufman Hall, Strata, EPSi, Trendstar, TSI).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including experience supervising or mentoring junior staff members.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of healthcare finance principles, including reimbursement methodologies and regulatory requirements, preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Computer proficiency required.

Position Summary

The Senior Finance Analyst reports to the Director of Decision Support and is responsible for providing support to the Finance Division and operational leadership.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial data, including revenue, expenses, and trends, to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of annual budgets and forecasts, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, board members, and external regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.
  • Monitor budget variances and investigate discrepancies, identifying potential areas for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in long-term financial planning and strategic decision-making, providing analysis and recommendations to support organizational growth and sustainability.
  • Performs complex financial evaluations of new programs/ventures, including assessment of volume, reimbursement, payor mix, operating costs, and capital needs.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency, implementing best practices to optimize financial operations.
  • Stay current with industry regulations and guidelines, ensuring compliance with all financial reporting standards and legal requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor junior finance analysts, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and expertise.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including accounting, revenue cycle, and operations, to support financial goals and objectives across the organization.
  • Lead or participate in special projects as assigned by senior management, contributing financial expertise to initiatives aimed at enhancing organizational performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis.
    • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
    • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
    • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
