This role involves installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system support of various communication technologies, ensuring optimal operational performance. The technician works independently, managing multiple projects and priorities while delivering on-call support to address urgent issues as needed.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain diverse communication systems, including voice, data, SCADA, video, microwave, and satellite equipment, along with supporting infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in communication systems, ensuring timely resolution to minimize system downtime.
- Support local projects through system implementation, coordination, and technical assistance.
- Lead and oversee the work of local contractors engaged in telecommunications system installation and maintenance.
- Provide first-level training and ongoing support to field operations personnel on communication systems and procedures.
- Act as a liaison between field operations and IT teams to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution.
- Drive standards and best practices in telecommunications field operations, providing feedback to engineering teams for continuous improvement.
- Maintain readiness to provide 24/7 on-call support for urgent system issues.
- Travel up to 30% to support regional field operations and project activities.
- Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades and enhancements, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required; Associate''s degree in Electronics or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems, including wireless data, SCADA, and LAN cabling.
- FCC license is preferred.
- Network certification such as CCNA is a plus.
- Proven ability to operate test equipment and software relevant to telecommunications field support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills to interact with internal teams and external clients.
- Physically capable of working outdoors and operating a motor vehicle safely.

Salary : $90,000 - $95,000
