SE Linux/MLS System Administrator SME

Location: Springfield, VA - Onsite

Duration: longterm

Role Summary: Lead the development and deployment of enterprise-level Multi-Level Security (MLS) configurations for federal HPC environments. You'll work with SE Linux-based systems to ensure secure, compliant, and high-performance computing capabilities for classified government operations.

Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required to start

ONSITE POSITION

Full-time onsite presence at designated federal facility required

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain integrated RHEL/SE Linux Mandatory Access Control (MAC) configurations
• Collaborate with Dev/Sec/Ops automation teams to deploy RHEL SE Linux MLS configurations
• Work closely with security teams to ensure RMF, RTB, and security controls compliance
• Manage system HPC performance impacts to ensure minimal degradation
• Apply software engineering best practices for timely, high-quality project delivery
• Provide technical support for deployed configurations to staff and end users
• Modify existing software to correct errors and improve performance
• Ensure InfiniBand high-speed fabrics operate correctly with MAC labeling
• Ensure MLS networking meets stringent security control requirements
• Support multiple systems, networks, and NAS storage configurations
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or AIS plus 10 years experience
• Minimum 5 years developing system software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environments
• Expert proficiency in SE Linux configuration, policy, MAC labeling, and security contexts
• Advanced SE Linux debugging, MLS FreeIPA, and MLS Ethernet interface networking
• Experience developing least-access policies for multi-level security environments
• Expert-level Bourne/Bash and Expect scripting proficiency
• Advanced Linux kernel debugging (source code examination, system logs, crash/systemtap)
• Satellite repository management for patching and custom kernel builds
• Automation experience with Ansible and Satellite Server
• Identity management systems expertise (LDAP, token-based authentication)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• High Performance Computing (HPC) environment expertise
• InfiniBand or Omni-Path fabric experience (subnet management, IPoIB/IPoOPA, topology/health monitoring, MPI integration)
• Lustre, NFS, and direct-attach filesystem experience
• Ethernet networking and RDMA communications expertise
• Python, Perl, Korn, and advanced shell scripting
• Revision control software experience (CVS, SVN, Git)
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent written and oral communication abilities
• Ability to analyze, debug, and maintain complex scripting infrastructure
