Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the client-side advocate across source-to-pay, materials management, inventory, logistics, warehouse-related design decisions, and cross-functional process integration.
- Review and challenge program deliverables including but not limited to: design documents, functional specifications, configuration choices, process flows, and cross-functional integration decisions proposed by the SI and other delivery partners.
- Assess whether proposed designs support utility operating realities, field execution requirements, maintenance support models, and enterprise standardization goals.
- Validate fit-to-standard recommendations and identify where utility-specific requirements, regulatory needs, or internal control obligations justify additional design consideration.
- Ensure strong traceability from business requirements through design decisions, configuration outcomes, testing impacts, and reporting consequences.
- Participate in governance forums and Design Authority discussions, bringing a practical client-side point of view on solution quality, risk, and sustainability.
- Help identify and resolve cross-functional issues spanning supply chain, finance, EAM, and field operations.
- Guide the client team on where fit-to-standard is appropriate and where operational realities require deeper evaluation or design clarification.
- Strengthen internal capability by coaching business and program leaders on SAP supply chain implications, design risks, and decision consequences.
- 12-15 years of SAP Supply Chain / Materials Management experience, including significant experience in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
- Strong expertise in procurement, inventory management, materials management, service purchasing, and supply chain integration points with finance and EAM.
- Experience reviewing functional designs, process flows, data structures, configuration decisions, and cross-module impacts.
- Solid command of SAP Activate, Fit-to-Standard, and end-to-end process design disciplines.
- Experience implementing large, complex, multi-jurisdiction SAP Transformations is required.
- Experience across both SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments is required.
- Experience implementing SAP in Electric and/or Gas IOU s is strongly preferred.
- Southwest region based preferred but not required.
- Ability and willingness to co-locate with the client team during critical planning, design, and governance periods. (at least 50% of the time)
- 4 full-lifecycle SAP Transformations, at least 3 preferred
- Experience operating in complex multi-partner programs where the practitioner must independently assess and challenge SI recommendations.
- Experience supporting storeroom, warehouse, line construction, maintenance materials, and field support operating models in utility environments.
- Experience with highly regulated supply chain environments where inventory, service procurement, and financial treatment must align to utility-specific reporting obligations.
