Job Title: SAP Project Manager (FICO) – Contract to Hire

Location: Des Moines, Iowa (hybrid onsite)

Employment Type: Contract to Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager with strong functional expertise in SAP FICO to lead and deliver finance-related SAP initiatives. This role requires a blend of project management capabilities and hands-on functional knowledge, particularly in General Ledger (GL) and Accounts Payable (AP). The ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of SAP security concepts to ensure compliant and secure implementations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP project delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
• Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communication
• Drive SAP FICO implementations, enhancements, and support initiatives
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications
• Oversee configuration and optimization of GL (General Ledger) and AP (Accounts Payable) modules
• Ensure alignment with financial processes, compliance, and reporting requirements
• Work closely with technical teams, functional consultants, and third-party vendors
• Maintain a high-level oversight of SAP security, ensuring proper roles, authorizations, and compliance standards
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to project team members
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in SAP, with a strong focus on SAP FICO
• Proven experience managing SAP projects (end-to-end lifecycle)
• Deep understanding of:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Strong knowledge of SAP FICO configuration and financial processes
• High-level understanding of SAP security concepts (roles, authorizations, compliance)
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP certification in FICO or Project Management
• Experience in S/4HANA implementations or migrations
• Background in finance or accounting processes
