UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a SAN Configuration & Data Migration Engineer for an onsite role in Brooklyn, NY or within the 5 boroughs to support enterprise storage transformation and data center migration initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in SAN architectures, multi-vendor storage platforms, Fibre Channel networking, and large-scale data migrations with a focus on high availability and performance optimization.

Mandatory Skills / Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of experience planning and executing large-scale SAN-based data migrations, including LUN migrations, storage consolidations, replication cutovers, and multi-vendor transitions
• Minimum of 4 years of experience designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery storage solutions, including Hitachi replication, SAN virtualization, and multi-site fabric architectures
• Minimum of 4 years of experience managing migration planning activities, including stakeholder coordination, scope definition, reporting, risk mitigation, and change management
• Minimum of 4 years of experience providing post-migration Hyper Care support, including performance troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Hands-on experience with Brocade Fibre Channel fabrics, including zoning (single initiator best practice), ISL trunking, fabric merges, and performance optimization
• Proficiency in multi-vendor SAN environments, including Hitachi, NetApp, IBM, and Pure Storage platforms
• Strong troubleshooting skills in resolving SAN performance issues, including latency, pathing failures, replication lag, zoning conflicts, and bottlenecks
  
  

SCOPE OF SERVICES

• Design and extend SAN fabric infrastructure between data center locations, ensuring connectivity, redundancy, and performance
• Configure and manage SAN components across multi-vendor storage platforms (NetApp, Hitachi, IBM, Pure Storage)
• Prepare target SAN environments by provisioning LUNs, storage groups, zoning configurations, and validating connectivity
• Execute data migrations using industry-standard tools and methodologies to ensure data integrity and minimal downtime
• Perform replication cutovers and storage transitions, ensuring alignment with business continuity requirements
• Configure and optimize Fibre Channel fabrics, including zoning, ISL configurations, and fabric performance tuning
• Collaborate with IT teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to gather requirements and provide ongoing status updates
• Monitor and validate migration activities, ensuring performance, availability, and data consistency
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage and connectivity issues during and after migration
• Provide post-migration Hyper Care support, including stabilization, performance tuning, and validation of storage environments
