Research Associate I

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Research Associate I for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Pharmaceutical clients in Dixon, CA.

The Animal Genetic Technologies department seeks a motivated laboratory researcher who will assist in the discovery of groundbreaking therapeutics by supporting the primary research of several hundred internal customers.

Responsibilities :

• Processing samples in the laboratory (both manually and via laboratory robotics)
• Analyzing and performing quality control of genetic data
• Helping to evaluate and implement new technologies
  
  

Required Skills:

• Lab experience required: instrumentation, manual PCR, validation/troubleshooting, and analyzing and reporting
• Must be detail oriented
• Applicants should have a learning mindset
• Be able to work in a fluid and diverse environment
• Possess a strong desire to participate in research support efforts while feeling comfortable working primarily in a laboratory setting.
• BS Degree required (Genomics or Forensics would be nice to have, but not required)
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• Next gen sequencing
• Experience with NGS technologies like Miseq and/or Illumina
• Candidates should have 1-2 years of demonstrated experience in a laboratory setting
