Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Maintainability (R&M)
- Develop and implement R&M processes aligned with weapon system requirements and acquisition strategies.
- Review FRACAS data, Deficiency Reports (DRs), and G081 failure data to identify trends and corrective actions.
- Verify R&M performance at program milestones and support system integrity programs (e.g., MECSIP).
- Maintain Critical Safety Item (CSI) lists and support airworthiness monitoring.
- Apply DoD and USAF engineering principles and airworthiness criteria (MIL-HDBK-516).
- Support System Safety, risk assessments, and resolution of high-priority safety issues.
- Ensure compliance with USAF airworthiness policies and OSS&E requirements.
- Review system baselines, OEM proposals, and modifications for feasibility and compatibility.
- Conduct trade studies, risk assessments, life-cycle cost, and performance analyses.
- Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, etc.) and technical evaluations.
- Translate user needs into system requirements and technical documentation.
- Support development of acquisition documents (ICD, CDD, RFPs, SEP, TEMP, etc.).
- Prepare engineering reports, executive briefings, and technical studies.
- Provide rapid response engineering support and deficiency resolution.
- Support configuration, risk, and data management processes.
- Assist with IMP/IMS development, cost estimates, and source selections.
- Ensure compliance with Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) and OSS&E processes.
- Bachelor’s (ABET accredited) Master’s in Engineering and 12 years of experience (5 years DoD), OR Bachelor’s (ABET accredited) and 15 years of experience (5 years DoD)
- Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience with Digital Material Management, CAMEO, SysML, and DOORS
