Location: Ann Abor, MI-onsite/Hybrid

Duration: Long Term Contract

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester with experience in Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure the quality and reliability of retail and payment applications. The candidate will be responsible for validating end-to-end POS workflows, including billing, payments, inventory, and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements for POS applications
• Design, write, and execute test cases and test scenarios for POS systems
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
• Validate POS transactions (cash, card, UPI, wallets, refunds, voids)
• Test billing workflows, discounts, taxes, and receipt generation
• Verify hardware integrations (barcode scanners, printers, card machines)
• Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA / Bugzilla
• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve issues
• Perform API testing (if applicable) using tools like Postman
• Validate data accuracy between POS and backend systems
• Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and release cycles
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC
• Hands-on experience in manual testing
• Experience working with POS systems / retail applications
• Knowledge of payment processing workflows
• Familiarity with SQL queries for database validation
• Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
• Good understanding of test case design techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience in retail domain
• Knowledge of API testing (Postman/Rest Assured)
• Exposure to automation tools (Selenium is a plus)
• Understanding of payment gateways and compliance (PCI DSS basics)
• Experience testing on Android-based POS devices
  
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 2–5 years of experience in manual testing
• Prior experience in POS or retail systems is highly preferred
