Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Tester with experience in Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure the quality and reliability of retail and payment applications. The candidate will be responsible for validating end-to-end POS workflows, including billing, payments, inventory, and integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business and functional requirements for POS applications
- Design, write, and execute test cases and test scenarios for POS systems
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing
- Validate POS transactions (cash, card, UPI, wallets, refunds, voids)
- Test billing workflows, discounts, taxes, and receipt generation
- Verify hardware integrations (barcode scanners, printers, card machines)
- Identify, log, and track defects using tools like JIRA / Bugzilla
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to resolve issues
- Perform API testing (if applicable) using tools like Postman
- Validate data accuracy between POS and backend systems
- Participate in UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and release cycles
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC
- Hands-on experience in manual testing
- Experience working with POS systems / retail applications
- Knowledge of payment processing workflows
- Familiarity with SQL queries for database validation
- Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA)
- Good understanding of test case design techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in retail domain
- Knowledge of API testing (Postman/Rest Assured)
- Exposure to automation tools (Selenium is a plus)
- Understanding of payment gateways and compliance (PCI DSS basics)
- Experience testing on Android-based POS devices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in manual testing
- Prior experience in POS or retail systems is highly preferred
- Sales transactions and checkout flow
- Returns, refunds, and exchanges
- Inventory updates and stock sync
- Pricing, promotions, and discounts
- Multi-store / multi-terminal scenarios
- Offline and online transaction handling
- Attention to detail
