Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python-based server-side development for financial markets systems and a proven ability to deliver complex components that support pricing, risk, and trade lifecycle workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex server-side components using Python.
• Collaborate with front office and risk stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support systems across pre-trade/origination, pricing and risk, and post-trade management workflows.
• Apply Agile and Lean practices, including backlog grooming, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot, prioritize, and resolve production and integration issues independently.
• Communicate status, risks, and design decisions with clear and concise updates.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5 years of strong Python development for server-side systems. Java experience is a plus.
• Financial Services experience with markets systems in front office derivatives risk, pre-trade/origination, or post-trade management.
• Computer Science or equivalent degree.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Lean software development practices and tooling.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with clear articulation of problems and solutions.
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Bank of America Quartz technology stack.
• Pricing and risk knowledge for derivative products, including Greeks and scenario analysis.
• Equity derivatives product knowledge such as futures, options, and convertibles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Onsite: 3 days per week in Jersey City, NJ (NJ2-525-19-01).
