We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our fast-paced Property and Land Management team. This is a permanent position that offers you a chance to work alongside industry professionals in a vibrant, high-energy environment. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and controlling the accounting, reporting, and financial presentation of a portfolio of real estate properties.

The ideal candidate will come from the property or real estate industry and have experience with multi-entity accounting.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct regular GL reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and principles.
• Prepare and review budget forecasts and variance analysis.
• Manage year-end close processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and liaising with auditors.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and general ledger accounts.
• Handle accruals, prepaids, and other adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Carry out cash flow analysis and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Use vlookups and other advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
• Utilize property accounting software for data entry, report generation, and financial analysis.
• Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure all financial and operational data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards and principles.
• Proficiency in Excel, including the use of advanced functions like vlookups.
• Experience with property accounting software is a must.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus, but not required.
