About The Role
We are seeking a talented Power BI Developer with strong UI design sensibility and advanced analytical skills to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. This is an onsite position requiring 4 days per week in office. The ideal candidate will transform complex datasets into compelling, intuitive visual stories that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable business insights to stakeholders at all levels.
- Create visually compelling and user-friendly data visualizations with a strong emphasis on UI/UX best practices, accessibility, and intuitive navigation.
- Write complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and optimize data models for performance and scalability across large datasets.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and leadership to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate business needs into analytical solutions.
- Build and manage data pipelines using Power Query (M language) to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources including SQL databases, APIs, and flat files.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace governance, and data refresh strategies in alignment with enterprise data management policies.
- Conduct data quality analysis, identify trends and anomalies, and present findings with clear, narrative-driven storytelling.
- Mentor junior team members on Power BI development best practices, design patterns, and performance optimization techniques.
- 5 years of hands-on experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models in an enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling techniques including star schema and snowflake schema design.
- Demonstrated UI/UX design skills with an eye for layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy in dashboard design.
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with SQL Server, Azure SQL, or similar relational databases for data extraction and query optimization. Familiarity with Power BI Service administration, including workspaces, apps, dataflows, and scheduled refresh configurations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or other cloud-based data integration tools.
- Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics and statistical modeling.
- Power BI certification (PL-300 or equivalent).
- Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, or other design tools for prototyping dashboard layouts.
