Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented POS Tester to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our Point-of-Sale systems. The ideal candidate will design and execute test plans, identify defects, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver robust POS solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Develop, execute, and maintain test cases and test scripts for POS systems.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of POS applications.
• Validate transaction workflows including sales, refunds, payment processes, peripheral devices (scanners, printers, card readers), and hardware integration.
• Identify, document, and track software defects using industry tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, TestRail).
  
  

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with developers, QA leads, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
• Participate in test planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups (Agile environments).
• Report test results, defect status, and quality insights clearly to stakeholders.
  
  

Test Data & Environment Management

• Identify and prepare test data and environments to simulate real-world retail scenarios.
• Set up and maintain testing environments that mimic store hardware and software configurations.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience testing POS systems or related retail software applications.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies — functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Familiarity with test management & defect tracking tools such as Jira, ALM, TestRail, etc.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of POS hardware peripherals (scanners, printers, PIN pads) and payment systems.
• Experience with automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright) or scripting for test automation.
• Understanding of retail business processes and payment gateways.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration environments.
