In this role, you'll be embedded in a 24x7 production environment where your hands-on expertise in Golden Gate both Classic and Microservices architectures will directly influence data integrity, system uptime, and replication performance across on-premises and hybrid infrastructure.
Day-to-day, you'll own the full lifecycle of Golden Gate deployments: installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting. Duties And Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle Golden Gate (Classic and Microservices) for real-time data replication, synchronization, and database migrations across on-premises and hybrid environments
- Manage Golden Gate deployments using the Administration Server, Service Manager, and Performance Metrics Service within the Microservices framework
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Golden Gate processes to resolve replication lag, data conflicts, and process failures
- Implement performance tuning and parallel replication strategies to enhance throughput and replication efficiency
- Collaborate with Oracle database environments including RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Exadata, and OEM to ensure high availability and consistency of replicated data
- Utilize AWR, ADDM, and other performance tools to analyze and improve database and replication performance
- Implement, configure, and maintain Data Guard and RAC environments, handling day-to-day administration and troubleshooting
- Use Data Pump (Export/Import) utilities for database migration and data management tasks
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for reporting, automation, and Golden Gate monitoring
- Design and implement heterogeneous replication between Oracle and non-Oracle databases using Golden Gate Microservices
- Contribute to performance optimization, troubleshooting, and capacity planning of high-volume replication systems
- Participate actively in service improvement plans and be available for on-call rotation as required
- 8 years of Oracle 18c/19c Database Administration experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Golden Gate installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting in production environments
- Expertise in replication setup, tuning, conflict resolution, and parallel processing
- In-depth understanding of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Exadata, and related technologies
- Proficiency in database performance tuning using AWR and ADDM; exposure to OEM monitoring
- Knowledge of shell scripting and automation frameworks
- Experience working in heterogeneous database environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present and document clearly
- Ability to work in a 24x7 environment with rotational shifts and on-call responsibilities
- Prior experience in a DevOps or Agile environment
- Working knowledge of JIRA
- Experience supporting large-scale utility, energy, or regulated industry environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
