Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Oracle and SQL Server database environments
- Monitor database systems for performance, availability, and capacity planning
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Oracle) and native SQL Server tools
- Perform database tuning and optimization for performance, including SQL query tuning and index management
- Manage database security including roles, privileges, and authentication mechanisms
- Develop and maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to support database design and development
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Data Guard, RAC, Always On Availability Groups)
- Support patching, upgrades, and application deployments in test and production environments
- Provide on-call support for critical database incidents and ensure timely resolution of issues
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) preferred
- 5 years of experience administering both Oracle (12c/19c) and SQL Server (2016/2019) in production environments
- Proficiency with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and SQL Server SSIS, SSRS, and SSMS
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows Server operating systems
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
