JOB DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW
The Network Monitoring Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing network performance, ensuring the integrity and security of the organization's network infrastructure. This role includes monitoring network traffic, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
Typical Duties And Responsibilities
Monitor network health/performance and traffic to ensure optimal operation
Maintain and configure network monitoring tools and software
Patch management - monitoring and deploying patches for workstations and laptops etc.
Identify and troubleshoot network issues in a timely manner
Generate reports on network performance and provide recommendations for enhancements
Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas to enhance network stability, performance, and customer experience. To propose, refine, and implement project standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies associated with network stacks.
Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal stakeholders (Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Program Management, and hardware partners) to drive infrastructure operations development and management
Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify potential vulnerabilities
Lead security investigations: root cause analysis, log forensics, and trace diagnostics
Maintain and tune detection rules, alarms, dashboards, and automated remediation workflows
Ensure compliance with security protocols and best practices
Education And Experience
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Previous experience in network and security monitoring or a similar role is preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills And Qualifications
Proficient in network monitoring tools and software, (SolarWinds, Manage Engine Ops)
Experience with Cisco/Palo tools and software
Experience With Endpoint Central Preferred
Strong understanding of network protocols and architecture (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM, antivirus, IDS/IPS, firewalls)
Understand cybersecurity principles and practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

This is a Permanent position based out of Dublin, OH.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
