Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MRI Technologist to join our imaging services team. The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established protocols. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain high-quality cross-sectional images of the body.
- Select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters based on examination requirements.
- Conduct patient pre-screening, scheduling, and provide education regarding MRI procedures.
- Enter, verify, and monitor patient data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Transfer imaging data from disks to magnetic media and ensure proper image processing.
- Ensure prompt and accurate submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct patient information, image quality, and lead markers.
- Adhere strictly to radiation and MRI safety protocols and departmental guidelines.
- Monitor MRI equipment performance and report any malfunctions or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe MRI department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Certification or degree in MRI Technology or Radiologic Technology (MRI specialization).
- Active and valid MRI Technologist certification/licensure as required by state and facility regulations.
- Strong knowledge of MRI procedures, protocols, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in PACS and imaging documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Prior experience working night shifts in a hospital or clinical imaging environment.
- Experience with a variety of MRI systems and imaging protocols.
- Clinical MRI department with adherence to strict safety and compliance standards.
- Requires prolonged standing and patient positioning.
- Ability to respond calmly in urgent or high-pressure situations.
