UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Middleware Migration & Integration Engineer for an onsite role in Brooklyn, NY or within the 5 boroughs to support enterprise application and data center migration initiatives. - Minimum of 8 years of experience working in enterprise middleware, integration, or full stack development environments
- Hands-on experience with IBM middleware technologies, including IBM Integration Bus (IIB), App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM MQ, and IBM DataPower
- Strong experience with integration technologies and protocols, including SOAP/REST services, XML/XSD, and messaging systems
- Experience configuring and managing certificates, queues, endpoints, and integration policies
- Proven experience supporting application migration or modernization initiatives
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API-first design, and DevOps practices
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Proficiency in Java/J2EE, ESQL, and SQL/PLSQL
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and automated testing strategies
- Strong understanding of security practices, including SSL/TLS, identity management, and compliance requirements
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills
- Conduct detailed inventory and assessment of middleware components, including IBM IIB, ACE, MQ, DataPower, and related services
- Identify and document system dependencies and integrations across upstream and downstream systems
- Configure and manage middleware components, including certificates, queues, endpoints, and integration policies
- Migrate and validate middleware services to new infrastructure environments, ensuring minimal disruption
- Perform end-to-end testing and validation of middleware services for performance, availability, and resilience
- Execute health checks and monitoring activities using logs and monitoring tools to ensure system stability
- Participate in cutover activities, including DNS updates, configuration changes, service restarts, and validation checks
- Support integration of middleware services within modernized, cloud-enabled, or containerized environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration and messaging issues across distributed systems
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and network teams to ensure seamless system interoperability
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for middleware environments
