Advantage Technical is hiring a Mechatronics Engineer / Mechanical Engineer to develop next-generation motion control systems. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, building real products, and solving complex electro-mechanical challenges-this is your opportunity to make an impact.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop electro-mechanical systems including actuators, motors, gears, sensors, and controllers
- Create detailed SolidWorks CAD models and drawings, including GD&T and manufacturing documentation
- Test, troubleshoot, and validate system performance using amplifiers, controllers, and lab equipment
- Develop test procedures, assembly instructions, and technical reports
- Partner with manufacturing and purchasing to source components and build BOMs in ERP systems
- Support product development from concept through production for complex assemblies
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage multiple engineering projects while collaborating across teams
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
- 4-8 years of experience in electro-mechanical product design and development
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (certification a plus) and GD&T
- Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power meters)
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Experience with servo drives, robotics, or automation systems is a plus
- Knowledge of EtherCAT, CANopen, Python, LabVIEW, or PCB design is a plus
