Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and related fabrication processes for low observable applications.
- Develop material, processing, and quality engineering specifications and design allowables.
- Conduct material property analysis, failure analysis, life predictions, and define requirement specifications.
- Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures.
- Support development and production programs with up to 10% travel as needed.

Basic Qualifications
- BS degree in materials science & engineering, chemistry, physics, or related degree.
- Generally has 7 years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
- 10 years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline.
- Experience with military aerospace materials and process specifications
- Experience with the development, evaluation, qualification, flight test, and fielding of low observable materials
