Key Responsibilities Data Governance & Oversight
- Serve as the final approver for all new product/item requests and master data changes
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance policies, standards, and business rules
- Maintain accountability for the quality, integrity, consistency, and accuracy of item master data
- Act as the escalation point for complex data issues, governance exceptions, and process conflicts
- Establish and maintain data standards, workflows, and governance procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Stewards and data management professionals
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and career development support
- Oversee daily operational workflows and prioritize work assignments effectively
- Ensure established SLAs and operational performance metrics are consistently achieved
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Partner closely with IT, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Sales teams to align master data processes with business objectives
- Develop and enhance enterprise data governance frameworks and best practices
- Lead initiatives focused on improving data quality, operational efficiency, and process standardization
- Define, monitor, and report on KPIs related to data quality, workflow performance, and governance compliance
- Support enterprise transformation and digital modernization initiatives involving master data
- Collaborate on dashboards and reporting solutions to monitor data quality and team performance
- Ensure effective utilization of MDM platforms and ERP systems to enforce governance standards
- Support system enhancements, integrations, automation initiatives, and process optimization efforts
- Utilize reporting and analytics tools to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Quality
- 2 years of experience leading or managing data-focused teams
- Hands-on experience managing Item/Product Master Data within ERP or MDM environments
- Experience working with enterprise platforms such as:
- SAP
- Oracle
- Informatica
- Stibo
- Other MDM/ERP systems
- Strong understanding of MDM principles, governance frameworks, and data quality best practices
- Experience with SQL or similar querying/reporting tools
- Familiarity with visualization and reporting platforms such as Tableau or Power BI
- Understanding of downstream business impacts related to Inventory, Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, and POS systems
- Experience supporting workflow optimization and process improvement initiatives
