We are seeking a senior-level Mainframe Top Secret (TSS) Security Administrator to serve as a subject-matter expert supporting legacy mainframe systems and the Mainframe Transformation Team. This role is responsible for maintaining data security, regulatory compliance, and operational stability of the agency’s mainframe environment.
- The position involves hands-on administration of Top Secret Security (TSS) and z/OS, including user access management, certificate and TLS configuration, system monitoring, and coordination with operations, networking, and application support teams within the State’s Consolidated Data Center Services (DCS).
- All work products are considered works made for hire, and candidates must pass Texas-authorized criminal background checks.
- Act as the SME for Mainframe Top Secret Security Administration
- Perform advanced z/OS systems administration and security configuration
- Manage user access control, certificates, TLS/SSL, RSA keys, SFTP/FTPS
- Support mainframe configuration, break/fix issues, and daily operations
- Monitor system performance, security events, and compliance
- Support mainframe job scheduling, production control, and ISV tools
- Coordinate with Network, Customer Support, and Application Development teams
- Assist with root cause analysis and audit readiness
- Support legacy systems and mainframe modernization efforts
