Job Title: Mainframe System Programmer / Engineer (IBM MQ)

Location: Plano, TX / Columbus, OH / Jersey City, NJ (Onsite 5 days/week)

Duration:11 Months Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Programmer/Engineer with strong expertise in IBM MQ on z/OS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing MQ environments, configuring queue managers, and supporting large-scale mainframe systems in a high-availability setup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, configure, and maintain IBM MQ Queue Managers, queues, and channels
• Support MQ clustering, Queue Sharing Groups, and SYSPLEX environments
• Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and system optimization
• Plan and execute MQ upgrades, maintenance, and patching
• Provide L2/L3 support for MQ-related issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise systems
  
  

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Mainframe Systems Programming (z/OS)
• Hands-on experience with IBM MQ (MQ Series on Mainframe)
• Experience with Queue Managers, clustering, and messaging infrastructure
• Knowledge of SYSPLEX, RACF/ACF2
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments
• Scripting experience (JCL, REXX; Python/Ansible is a plus)
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB)
• MQ automation and performance tuning (SMF)
