Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Machining Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and implementing optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
- Recommending and implementing improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
- Coordinating manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
- Designing, developing, and testing a variety of tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
- Overseeing installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment.
- Developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.
- Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
- Collaborating with design engineers to optimize design for manufacturability.
- Leading and executing continuous improvement, lean manufacturing activities, and process improvement teams.
To be considered for the Permanent Machining Engineer position, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining and tool design.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tool design, and production equipment capabilities.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to design and conduct research programs and apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
- Proven experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to apply creative solutions to complex problems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage large amounts of data.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is a plus.
