Client is seeking a highly experienced Lead DataStage Integration Support Engineer to oversee the development, administration, and support of enterprise ETL and data integration platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in IBM DataStage, Unix/Linux administration, Python scripting, Control-M scheduling, and production support operations. This role requires leadership capabilities to manage a team of support engineers while ensuring platform stability, performance, and continuous improvement across mission-critical data integration systems.Required Skills & Qualifications
- 8 10 years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage (Development & Administration)
- Strong expertise in Unix/Linux, Shell Scripting, and Cron Jobs
- Hands-on experience with Python programming and automation development
- Extensive experience with Control-M administration, job scheduling, and monitoring
- Solid knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and MS SQL Server
- Strong understanding of ETL architecture, data integration, and workflow orchestration
- Experience in production support, incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem management
- Experience leading support teams and managing stakeholder communications
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Lead and mentor a team of DataStage support engineers
- Own the end-to-end DataStage ETL platform, including development, administration, deployment, and support
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain DataStage ETL jobs and workflows
- Administer DataStage environments, including user roles, security, deployments, upgrades, and migrations
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL job failures across DataStage and Unix/Linux environments
- Drive incident management, problem management, RCA, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and Python-based automation solutions
- Manage Control-M scheduling, monitoring, agent upgrades, workload automation, and failure handling
- Configure SAP/Unix jobs, calendars, workload policies, and dependencies
- Support Gentran integrations, including maps, mailboxes, FTP scripts, Java programs, and SQL procedures
- Collaborate with business users, development teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors for issue resolution
- Define and enforce best practices for ETL development, deployment, release management, and operational support
- Monitor platform performance and implement proactive measures to improve reliability and efficiency
- Ensure adherence to enterprise security, compliance, and operational standards
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise ETL environments
- Knowledge of IBM Infosphere suite and related data integration tools
- Exposure to cloud-based data integration platforms
- Experience with ITIL processes and service management frameworks
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
- Experience working in media, entertainment, or large enterprise environments
