- The end-client is seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong expertise in Teradata and Erwin Data Modeler.
- The selected candidate will design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models that support analytical, operational, and reporting requirements across large-scale data warehouse environments.
- Design, build, and maintain logical and physical data models for Teradata-based data warehouses and data marts.
- Develop and maintain metadata, data dictionaries, and documentation using Erwin Data Modeler.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, high-performing database structures.
- Ensure data modeling standards, naming conventions, and best practices are consistently applied.
- Collaborate with data architects, ETL developers, and business analysts to align models with integration and transformation needs.
- Conduct data profiling, source-to-target analysis, and impact analysis for model changes.
- Optimize data structures for performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
- Support data governance, metadata management, and data quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
- Provide subject-matter expertise for production teams, addressing model-related issues and enhancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- 12 years of experience in data modeling for large-scale data warehouse or enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Teradata databases and architecture.
- Expertise in Erwin Data Modeler / Erwin Model Mart.
- Strong understanding of normalized, denormalized, and dimensional modeling techniques (Star/Snowflake schemas).
- Experience working with ETL/ELT teams and understanding of data integration principles.
- Solid SQL skills with knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience with metadata management and data governance practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Exposure to BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, SAP BO, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps delivery models.
