Responsibilities:
The Labor & Employment Attorney will be responsible for:
- Providing advice and counsel to human resources and management on a wide range of labor and employment law matters, including but not limited to wage and hour issues, FLSA compliance, employee relations, and employment agreements.
- Drafting and revising employment policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Representing the company in labor and employment litigation matters before courts, arbitrators, and administrative agencies.
- Handling EEOC and agency charge responses, investigations, and mediations.
- Providing training to human resources and management on labor and employment law topics.
- Participating in the development and implementation of proactive strategies for managing labor and employment law risks.
The ideal candidate for the Labor & Employment Attorney position will have:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- At least 5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation, wage and hour disputes, FLSA matters, class and collective actions.
- Experience in providing HR advice and counseling on a wide range of employment law issues.
- Strong experience in drafting employment policies, employee handbooks, and employment agreements.
- Solid experience in handling EEOC and agency charge responses, investigations, and mediations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work under tight deadlines.
- Membership in good standing of a state bar.
