We are seeking a highly skilled Kong AI Gateway Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in API gateway technologies, particularly Kong, along with exposure to AI-driven integrations and modern cloud-based architectures. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable API gateway solutions to support enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and manage API Gateway solutions using Kong Gateway / Kong AI Gateway
- Implement API security, authentication, and traffic management policies
- Integrate AI/ML services with API gateways for intelligent routing, monitoring, and analytics
- Configure plugins, rate limiting, logging, and monitoring within Kong
- Work closely with DevOps and Cloud teams for deployment and CI/CD integration
- Optimize API performance, scalability, and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve gateway-related issues in production environments
- Ensure compliance with security and governance standards
- 8 years of experience in software development or API engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Kong Gateway (Open Source or Enterprise)
- Experience with API management tools and RESTful services
- Knowledge of AI/ML integration concepts in API ecosystems
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of API security (OAuth2, JWT, SSL/TLS)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with Kong AI Gateway (latest features / plugins)
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Lua, or Node.js)
- Experience in financial services domain (preferred for LPL)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
