The ideal candidate has deep experience translating VP and executive requirements into scalable Jira portfolio solutions and dashboards, and has successfully delivered enterprise-wide Atlassian implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Intake & Workflow Architecture
- Design and implement a centralized intake portal for all Network Automation and Service Enablement requests (software engineering, AI/ML, autonomous networking).
- Architect parent–child / portfolio-to-delivery project relationships across multiple Jira projects.
- Standardize intake, triage, prioritization, and execution workflows across heterogeneous engineering teams.
- Define and implement governance models for intake lifecycle management (idea → intake → approval → delivery → closure).
- Build VP and executive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into:
- Intake volume and trends
- Strategic alignment
- Delivery progress and health
- Cross-team dependencies
- Capacity vs demand
- Design portfolio-level KPIs and metrics aligned to business outcomes, not just Jira activity.
- Implement roll-up reporting across multiple teams, programs, and initiatives.
- Lead architecture and configuration of:
- Jira Software (Cloud)
- Jira Service Management (for intake where applicable)
- Advanced Roadmaps / Jira Roadmaps
- Jira Align (if applicable for strategy-to-execution alignment)
- Develop custom solutions using Atlassian Forge where native Jira capabilities are insufficient.
- Implement Atlassian Automation rules to streamline intake, status transitions, reporting updates, and executive notifications.
- Partner with VPs, Directors, Product Owners, Engineering Leaders, and Operations teams to translate business needs into Jira solutions.
- Facilitate requirements workshops with executive and senior engineering stakeholders.
- Serve as the trusted Atlassian advisor for portfolio management and enterprise workflows.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and compliant with enterprise standards.
- Define best practices for Jira project configuration, permissions, schemas, and data hygiene.
- Provide documentation, training, and enablement for administrators and end users.
Atlassian Core Expertise
- Deep hands-on expertise with Jira Cloud (Software & Service Management).
- Strong experience designing complex workflows, schemes, and issue hierarchies.
- Proven experience implementing Advanced Roadmaps / Jira Roadmaps for portfolio planning.
- Working knowledge of Jira Align or similar enterprise agile portfolio tools.
- Advanced experience with Atlassian Automation (rules, triggers, conditions, smart values).
- Experience building or extending Jira functionality using Atlassian Forge.
- Familiarity with REST APIs and integrations across Atlassian products.
- Strong experience building executive-level dashboards and reports.
- Ability to design reporting that communicates business outcomes, not just delivery metrics.
- Experience with cross-project rollups and portfolio reporting.
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale Atlassian implementations (multi-org, multi-team).
- Ability to design solutions that balance standardization and team autonomy.
- Strong understanding of Agile, SAFe, and enterprise delivery models.
- 8–12 years of experience working with Atlassian tools.
- 5 years designing and implementing enterprise Jira solutions.
- 3 years supporting portfolio-level or executive reporting.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with VP and executive stakeholders.
- Experience supporting AI/ML, platform engineering, or network automation teams.
- Experience in telecommunications or large-scale infrastructure organizations.
- Prior experience designing intake portals for centralized engineering organizations.
- Experience with data visualization or BI tools integrated with Jira (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (Cloud)
