Description
The IT Audit Director will lead the IT Audit function and be a member of Internal Audit's Leadership Team. They are expected to contribute significantly to the strategic planning, process innovation, project management, conduct hands-on audits, and deliver assurance and consulting services in accordance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies. This role reports to the Chief Audit Executive. This person must have strong financial services industry experience. This person should not be heavily focused on SOX but instead have a strong understanding of performing and leading IT Audits with cloud, SOC, NIST frameworks, COBIT, and other IT functions/frameworks.
Currently all IT Audit functions are being done by KPMG and the client needs to bring some of the work in house as directed by regulators. This person will be the first member of the IT Audit team and will report directly to the Chief Audit Executive. They need to have a leadership mindset but be able to do the hands on work and everyone no matter level or title gets in the weeds. They will also work with the CAE to grow the team around them and lead the team. They will also need to act as the liaison and voice of the client with KPMG and keep KPMG "in check".

Responsibility for assisting with the development of a risk-based multi-year audit plan, performing risk assessments, and overseeing the execution of audits for areas of responsibility.
Collaborate with members of the Internal Audit leadership team to determine audit coverage and an integrated audit approach for designated businesses.
Collaborate with other corporate risk and control functions to ensure activities are coordinated and, where possible, leveraged.
Manage and foster business relationships with Senior Management and provide control advisory services on the Company's various projects
Provide strategic guidance and expertise on the execution of the audit by applying knowledge of (company/industry/IT) best practices and processes to ensure proper strategic alignment
Perform IT Audits
Understand how IT Audits need to be conducted in a cloud environment
Strong Financial services experience
Evaluate and streamline quarterly and annual audit processes and improve departmental and company costs.
Oversee IT Audit Team and assure all deadlines are met by internal and external auditors.
Will be accountable for meeting deliverable deadlines, adhering to department and professional standards, and utilizing consistent methodology.
Engagement with relevant regulators where applicable
