Job Title: Infrastructure Systems Engineer (9064)

Location: Cayce, SC 29033

Work Type: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week (Onsite required weekly)

Duration: 12 Months

Candidate Must Be a CURRENT South Carolina Resident - No Relocation Allowed

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in server hosting, segmentation, and modernization initiatives
• Plan, design, install, configure, and convert physical and virtual server environments
• Coordinate daily tasks with IT Section Managers, Team Leads, vendors, and internal engineering teams
• Advise on hardware configurations and enterprise system implementations
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues
• Support conversion of existing environments into a segmented security framework
• Implement access controls, audit logging, and security baselines aligned with CIS, NIST, and agency standards
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams on vulnerability remediation and incident response
• Provide Tier 3 escalation support for identity, access, and authentication issues
• Support infrastructure migrations, cloud integration, and system upgrades
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CJIS, CDC data classification, and DPH security policies
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, and system roadmaps
• Communicate project progress, risks, and issue resolution to management
• Work flexible hours when required, including outside standard business hours
• Follow all agency IT standards, documentation requirements, and security procedures
• Sign DPH confidentiality and Business Associate agreements as required
  
  

Required Skills:

• 5 years of experience with Windows Server
• 5 years of experience with Group Policy (GPO) and PowerShell
• 5 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory
• 5 years of experience with Backup and Disaster Recovery (DR) in enterprise environments
• 5 years of experience with computer and network hardware, software, and operating systems
• 2 years of experience with security and data classification related to CDC, HIPAA, or CJIS
• 3 years of experience with IT system analysis, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance
