Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Workload Automation Architect / Engineer to define and drive the enterprise architecture, strategy, and operational model for IBM Tivoli / IBM Workload Scheduler (TWS/IWS) across hybrid environments (on-prem & cloud). This role will lead platform modernization, reliability engineering, and governance, while managing teams and ensuring high availability of mission-critical workloads.
Key Responsibilities:

- Own end-to-end TWS/IWS platform architecture (topology, integrations, environments)
- Define standards, patterns, and reference designs
- Lead modernization, upgrades, and migration initiatives
- Assess legacy schedulers and define target-state architecture & migration roadmap
- Define and implement reliability engineering practices:
- Availability targets
- Capacity planning
- Performance tuning
- Monitoring & alerting
- Design High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
- Conduct and manage DR testing and remediation
- Build and optimize automation frameworks using:
- Shell, Python, Perl
- Integrate with:
- Enterprise applications (SAP, ERP systems)
- File transfer systems (SFTP, PGP, MFT)
- Implement event-driven and real-time scheduling solutions
- Define workload onboarding standards:
- Job design, dependencies, naming conventions
- Manage SLA/SLO compliance and optimization
- Ensure security and compliance:
- LDAP/SSO
- Role-based access
- Audit and vulnerability management
- Lead major incident response and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Serve as escalation point for critical issues
- Participate in on-call rotation and outage management (QEND events)
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
- Lead and mentor two job scheduling teams
- Coordinate across application, database, infrastructure, and security teams
- Drive technical reviews, documentation standards, and knowledge sharing
- Support global operations across US and EMEA time zones
- 10 years of experience in Workload Automation
- 7 years hands-on experience with IBM TWS / IWS / IWA
- Proven experience in architect/lead roles
- Strong expertise in:
- Linux / UNIX (AIX, SunOS)
- Production troubleshooting & performance tuning
- Advanced scripting skills:
- Shell, Python, Perl
- Strong experience with:
- Incident management & RCA
- ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with:
- DB2 (HADR), Oracle, PostgreSQL
- Tivoli Dynamic Workload Console (TDWC/TDWB)
- REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven scheduling
- Familiarity with:
- Cloud environments and infrastructure automation (IaC)
- Observability tools (Grafana, Graphite, AppDynamics, OBM)
- ServiceNow (ITSM workflows and reporting)
- Experience integrating:
- SAP and enterprise systems via TWS agents
