Key Responsibilities:
- Field Installations: Perform on-site installation of hardware and software systems on semi-trucks, including vision sensors, monitors and central compute module.
- System Integration: Connect and configure systems with vehicle power and CANBUS networks; ensure compatibility with existing truck systems; includes ability to develop cabling requirements.
- Engineering Support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation; provide feedback to technical teams for product improvement.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct functional tests and safety checks to verify proper operation of installed components.
- Customer Interaction: Serve as a technical point of contact during field visits; explain system functionality and provide basic training to fleet operators.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and any field modifications.
- Travel: Approximately 25% regional travel to customer sites for installations and support.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal engineering and product teams to share insights from field deployments.
- Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude: Strong understanding of semi-truck electrical systems, 12V wiring, and mechanical assembly.
- Technical Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges in real-world conditions.
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using power and hand tools related to working on vehicles.
- Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in varied positions, including under vehicles.
- Communication Skills: Comfortable interacting with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly.
- Experience:
- 5 years working on commercial motor vehicles, with at least 2 years on semi-trucks.
- Familiarity with vehicle camera systems and CANBUS preferred.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license required; CDL ideal.
- Startup Mindset: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
