Enterprise Data Steward (Data Governance & Quality)

Our client - a major utility firm based out of Westchester County, NY - has an immediate need for an Enterprise Data Steward. The particulars of the position are as follows.

Project Overview:

This role will support the Data Governance Program - focusing on enabling data stewardship, improving the quality of data assets, increasing data security and protection, simplifying data integration, and establishing better audit trails on data usage.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Conduct data discovery stakeholder interviews and workshops to collect business data processes with business and IT stakeholders.
• Identify data sets, develop data flows, understand data-related processes, and identify key data issues within business areas.
• Create Data Discovery metrics & presentation.
• Onboard and operationalize Business Glossary into Collibra, the Data Governance tool.
• Facilitate business with dataset onboarding and report certification in Collibra.
• Support the Data Governance Lead to integrate data governance solutions.
• Liaison with key stakeholders on DG initiatives within their lines of business.
• This role will also be responsible for some reporting (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel, etc.)
  
  

Skills:

• Working experience in Data Governance or Data Management area.
• Strong knowledge of Data Governance & Quality - policies, processes, and tools.
• Strong presentation & communication skills are required.
• Advanced Excel skills, Power BI, and able to create reports / dashboards for senior leaders.
• Working in Agile environments.
  
  

Education & Certifications:

• Undergraduate degree is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience in Data Governance or Data Management.
