Job Summary
- Generates and maintains production work order routings/planning to support customer requirements and delivery schedule.
- Create rework planning for parts or tools as required.
- Reviews customer-engineering changes.
- Reviews customer purchase order requirements and changes.
- Support manufacturing and other departments as an internal customer.
- Coordinates engineering efforts within the department.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Posts changes to computerized or manual control records, releases documents, and notifies affected departments
- Ensures that documents in use are updated to the latest configuration.
- Orders replacement documents as required.
- Tracks engineering changes.
- Confers with document originators or engineering liaison personnel to resolve discrepancies and compiles required changes to documents.
- Maintains engineering related files.
- Operates reproduction equipment.
- Prepares requests for reproduction of documents.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, machining, forming and welding, preferred
- Ability to manage numerous projects and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and communication skills and detail oriented
- Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six-Sigma, Continuous Improvement knowledge/experience preferred
- Overtime as needed to support manufacturing
- Read and understand internal procedures and policies
- Understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions
- High School Diploma; up to 3 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three years' experience as Engineering/Production Planner, preferred
- Technical writing skills preferred
- Computer experience: Microsoft Office, BaaN
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars and customer specifications
