Seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead development, execution, and global team expansion for a next-generation embedded automotive platform. This role combines technical leadership across base software and test systems with responsibility for building and scaling a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) engineering team in India.
The position requires a strong background in embedded systems, along with proven experience managing distributed teams, driving execution, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex automotive platforms.
Requirements:
- Lead and manage base software and test automation engineering teams, including solid-line ownership of assigned resources
- Set clear priorities, objectives, and performance expectations aligned with platform roadmaps
- Mentor and develop engineers and technical leaders, partnering with Tech Leads for day-to-day technical direction
- Drive hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning
- Establish and scale a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) team in India as an extended engineering workbench
- Assign and manage tasks across global teams while ensuring delivery meets quality, timing, and integration standards
- Oversee operational execution including vendor coordination, purchase orders, invoicing, and resource planning
- Own delivery of base software components including BSP, MCAL, bootloaders, HALs, and OS/RTOS services
- Guide board bring-up, early silicon validation, and low-level driver integration
- Act as escalation point for complex hardware-software interaction issues
- Lead development of automated test frameworks for bring-up, validation, and manufacturing
- Define test strategies, coverage, and best practices across automation and validation
- Drive improvements in test efficiency, reliability, and cycle time through tooling and process enhancements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, safety, security, validation, and product teams
- Align software and test roadmaps with program milestones and delivery timelines
- Identify risks early and drive mitigation plans across stakeholders
- Contribute to budget planning, forecasting, and resource optimization
- Deep experience in embedded base software architectures (BSP, MCAL, bootloaders, HAL, OS/RTOS services)
- Strong background in ECU and HPC bring-up, silicon validation, and production readiness
- Experience with automotive EE architectures and development processes
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety concepts and implementation
- Experience building and scaling test systems, automation frameworks, and CI pipelines
- Proficiency in C/C and scripting languages
- Strong experience with embedded debugging tools and system-level troubleshooting
- Experience managing third-party vendors and software integrations
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in embedded or automotive environments
- Strong people leadership, mentorship, and team development skills
- Ability to manage global/distributed teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience aligning staffing, budgets, and technical execution with business goals
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational leadership skills
- Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environments

Experience:
- 12 years in embedded software, base software (BSW), or test systems
- 4 years in people management and technical leadership
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Master s degree preferred
