We are seeking a Director Software Engineering to lead high-performing web engineering teams building scalable, customer-facing applications. This role combines strong people leadership with hands-on technical depth in modern web technologies.
You will drive execution of the web roadmap, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure delivery of high-quality, high-performance applications used by millions of users.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams (15 25 engineers) across web platform development
- Drive delivery of scalable, high-performance customer-facing web applications
- Partner with Product, Design, and Business teams to execute roadmap initiatives
- Provide technical guidance, architecture input, and design reviews
- Conduct code reviews, sprint planning, and task prioritization
- Foster a strong engineering culture focused on quality, ownership, and innovation
- Hire, coach, and develop engineering talent
- Track and improve delivery using engineering metrics and KPIs
- Ensure adherence to best practices in CI/CD, testing, and performance optimization
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 10 years of software engineering experience
- 5 years leading engineering teams
- Strong experience building customer-facing web applications at scale
- Hands-on expertise with:
- JavaScript, ReactJS, Angular or similar frameworks
- Node.js and REST APIs
- Microservices architecture
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Google Cloud Platform/Azure)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Exposure to tools like Adobe Experience Manager, Google Analytics
- Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalability
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to mentor and grow engineering teams
- Hands-on leader who can step into technical challenges when needed
