The Director IT Procurement plays a crucial role in developing and leading effective Strategic Sourcing strategies, Category Management, and contract execution. This position is responsible for overseeing large-scale projects ranging from $500 million to $1 billion and driving cost savings and value creation through efficient procurement practices.
Responsibilities:
- Develop strategic portfolio and category plans to generate cost savings and optimize total cost of ownership
- Ensure governance of contract approval process and oversee contract spend across multiple categories
- Lead cross-functional teams in executing strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiation strategies
- Manage supplier relationships, SLAs, and performance to maximize customer satisfaction
- Establish service level agreements and hold suppliers accountable for performance
- Approve purchase orders and contracts within specified financial limits
- Directly supervise Sourcing Supervisors, Category Leaders, and Sourcing Specialists
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 8 years of experience in procurement/sourcing
- 3 years of experience in IT category management with a focus on software/SaaS
- Strong experience in strategic sourcing and negotiations
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive strategy
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes
- Partner with stakeholders to forecast demand and plan ahead
- Manage supplier relationships, SLAs, and performance
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and identify and resolve problems
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree
- Project Management experience, Utility industry experience
- Demonstrated category management and procurement transformation experience
- 2-3 years of supervisor experience
- SAP/SRM/Ariba proficiency
