The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring solutions are practical, secure, and aligned with ODOC’s mission to protect Ohio consumers and businesses.
Primary Responsibilities
Agency Strategy & Relationship Management
- Partner with ODOC leadership to understand regulatory processes (licensing, compliance, enforcement)
- Define how technology can streamline operations and improve citizen experience
- Shape and recommend technology modernization roadmaps
- Act as liaison between business divisions and IT leadership
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and resolve competing priorities
- Communicate IT initiatives clearly to executive stakeholders
- Define success metrics and demonstrate value of technology investments
- Translate business needs into technical requirements (epics, high-level designs)
- Translate technical constraints into business impact for leadership
- Evaluate solution architecture proposals for scalability, compliance, and feasibility
- Guide resolution of complex issues in legacy environments
- Collaborate with data/analytics teams to support data-driven decision making
- 5 years of experience in IT, with roles in:
- Business Relationship Management (BRM)
- Product Management
- Strategic IT Consulting
- Strong understanding of Solution Architecture (high-level)
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and enterprise initiatives
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language
- Experience in state government, public sector, or regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare, compliance, etc.)
- BRMP certification or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- Strategic thinking & advisory mindset
- Strong stakeholder engagement (executive technical)
- Business & technology alignment
- Problem-solving in complex/legacy environments
- Data-driven decision making
- Not hands-on coding, but technically fluent
- Strong in business IT alignment
- Experience working in regulated environments
