Desktop Support

Job at a Glance

  • Title: Workstation Support
  • Location: Dominion Energy TOC 601 Taylor Road, Cayce, SC
  • Contract: W2 only, 12-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full-time
  • Pay: $25/hour optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview

This role involves providing workstation and desktop support, including troubleshooting, imaging, and configuration for end users. The position requires strong technical skills and excellent customer service to ensure minimal downtime and increased productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install software and configure hardware for end users.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot workstation and operating system issues.
  • Perform high-volume imaging using SCCM.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve imaging issues across PCs, laptops, Toughbooks, and tablets.
  • Configure and test workstations for VPN access using secure token identification.
  • Install operating systems and deploy appropriate images based on user needs.
  • Install and configure core applications after base OS deployment.
  • Establish internet access, TCP/IP addressing, and internal and external email accounts.
  • Support Ethernet and TCP/IP connectivity.
  • Support company software, operating systems, workstations, and network connectivity.
  • Minimize downtime and increase productivity through timely support.
  • Interface with a wide range of internal clients while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Support HP and OCE printers and plotters (preferred).
  • Provide helpline or customer service support as needed.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Desktop Technician or Desktop Administrator.
  • Experience as a Desktop Technician or Desktop Administrator.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve imaging issues for PCs, laptops, Toughbooks, and tablets.
  • Experience configuring and testing VPN access using secure token authentication.
  • Proficiency with Windows 11, Office 365, Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Sense of urgency and ownership when resolving issues.
  • Clear and proactive communication with end users.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience as a LAN Administrator.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry.
