Design Engineer

Location: Ottumwa, IA

Duration: 12 months with possible extension

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day design support and troubleshooting for a production line environment
• Develop, review, and evaluate design solutions to enhance cost efficiency, quality, and product performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, supply chain, and suppliers, to implement design improvements
• Define and interpret engineering specifications for routine issues and small to mid-scale projects
• Review and analyze test plans to support product verification and validation of design changes
  
  

Required Skills

• Ability to work flexible hours to support production needs, including occasional overtime
• Experience using Creo or comparable CAD/design software
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with product verification and validation processes
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Experience working with assembly line processes and related documentation
• Knowledge of weld processes and associated documentation
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field
• Equivalent relevant work experience will also be considered
