We are seeking an experienced DB2 Database Administrator (DB2 DBA) to support, maintain, and optimize enterprise DB2 database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DB2 administration on Linux/Unix platforms, performance tuning, and database security.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database environments
- Manage DB2 databases including backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Monitor database performance and perform tuning for optimal efficiency
- Troubleshoot database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks
- Implement and maintain database security, roles, and access controls
- Support high availability (HA) and replication technologies (HADR)
- Perform database patching, migrations, and upgrades
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams for database support
- Automate routine DBA tasks using shell scripting or other tools
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with standards.
- 5 years of experience as a DB2 DBA
- Strong experience with IBM DB2 LUW (Linux/Unix/Windows)
- Hands-on experience with HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery)
- Expertise in backup & recovery strategies
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimization
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
- Experience with SQL scripting and stored procedures
- Familiarity with database security and compliance
