The DataOps Engineer enables safe, reliable, and scalable delivery of analytics products by managing CI/CD pipelines, environment automation, observability, and incident response. This role is responsible for the Enterprise Data Analytics Platform (EDAP), which includes Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Service, and supporting Azure infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using ADF and Azure DevOps for notebooks, jobs, Delta Live Tables (DLT), and Power BI deployments.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or ARM templates for platform resources.
Design and manage monitoring and alerting systems via Azure Monitor and Log Analytics, including SLO tracking, job health, cost optimization and incident response.
Automate platform operations using Databricks REST API and CLI; standardize secrets and configuration management.
Promote and enforce SDLC best practices, including testing, version control, and change management.
Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient operations.
Required Skills & Experience
4-8 years of professional experience in DataOps, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), IaC (Terraform, ARM), and scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
Experience with Databricks automation (CLI, REST API), ADF deployments, and Power BI pipeline management.
Strong devops practices including branching strategies, pull request checks, and environment promotion.
Security-first mindset with familiarity in role-based access control, secret rotation, and data classification.
Core Competencies: DevOps, Automation & Governance, Programming for Analytics
