Summary:
The Databricks Lead owns the Databricks architecture for Bronze and Silver layers, driving ingestion patterns, transformation design, data quality, and performance optimization across migration waves.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Databricks architecture for Bronze and Silver layer engineering
- Design and enforce ingestion, transformation, and data quality patterns
- Review and certify all AI-generated Spark code for correctness, security, and performance
- Drive performance tuning across Spark jobs and DLT pipelines
- Ensure schema standardization, dedup rules, and validation logic are consistently applied
- Guide offshore Databricks engineers on pattern consistency and quality standards
- Ensure Unity Catalog registration, lineage, metadata, and access control alignment
- 10 years of experience in distributed data engineering (Databricks, Spark, Iceberg, Delta)
- Proven experience designing and delivering Bronze/Silver pipelines at enterprise scale
- Strong background in data quality frameworks, Unity Catalog, and modern ELT patterns
- Experience leading offshore engineering teams in Agile delivery models
- Medallion Architecture
- Data modeling and Data Engineering
- SQL query tuning and optimization
- Spark and Spark performance tuning
- Delta Live Tables (DLT) and Autoloader
- Genie Code and LakeBridge
- Debugging and troubleshooting at scale
