Under the resulting Purchase Order (PO), the selected Contractor will provide qualified staff capable of performing the tasks, meeting the required work schedule, and possessing the outlined qualifications. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Support, maintain, and modify existing production database applications.
- Partner with agency customers to design processes for data intake and distribution, following State of Florida security guidelines.
- Assist in the design of database architecture and strategic planning.
- Provide research and analytical support for emerging projects.
- Develop protocols for implementing new and existing database applications.
- Implement approved changes following Agency Change Management procedures.
- Produce technical documentation as requested.
- Conduct pilot projects and research technologies to enhance current or new processes.
- Create accurate and complete project documentation.
- Develop project timelines when requested.
- Maintain detailed records of hours worked and tasks completed.
- Adhere to agency security, privacy, and procedural policies.
- Support and comply with all Agency policies and procedures.
- Document work activities through Agency Change Management, Service Desk, and cost allocation tools.
- Emergency Duty: May be required to work before, during, or after emergency events unless excused.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Platform Manager.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or
- Equivalent work experience
The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong competencies in the following areas:
Technical Skills
- SQL Server Database Administration
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- SQL development (T-SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers)
- SQL Server replication, high availability, and validation
- SQL Server installation, patching, and upgrades
- SQL/T-SQL performance tuning, index maintenance, and bottleneck analysis
- Logical database design and data modeling
- Windows OS and PowerShell scripting
- Understanding of SDLC
- Experience in system installations, troubleshooting, migrations, and upgrades
- Knowledge of SQL Server backup and recovery processes
- Knowledge of SQL Server clusters, AlwaysOn AG, and Failover Clustering
- Ability to independently resolve complex technical issues
- Diagnose, isolate, and troubleshoot server and data infrastructure problems
- Monitor and tune databases to ensure high availability
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly, verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional issue resolution
- Knowledge of data privacy and protection initiatives
- Strong database security administration skills
- Ability to stay current with tools, methodologies, and technologies related to data administration
- Ability to assist application, web development teams, and business customers in solution design, deployment, and development
- 2 8 years of experience as a SQL Database Analyst
- Experience with PL/SQL or T-SQL development
- Experience supporting enterprise-level SQL Server environments
- Strong oral communication
