Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Administrator II for a Large Energy Company located in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 12 month contract opportunity. This position requires 3 days a week, onsite in Minneapolis.
Pay range: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.
This role will support the Operational Technology (OT) side of the business, including critical SCADA and nuclear systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting multiple database platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB. Key duties include performance tuning, patching, database builds, backup and recovery, and scripting for automation. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite in Minneapolis and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:
- Support the Operational Technology (OT) side of the business, including SCADA and nuclear systems
- Manage and support multiple database platforms, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB
- Perform performance tuning, patching, and database builds
- Ensure data recovery, maintenance, and data integrity
- Develop scripts for automation using KornShell and PowerShell
- Participate in a 7-day on-call rotation every 4 weeks
- Monitor the DBA helpdesk, address alerts, and manage requests using ServiceNow
- Collaborate with internal teams and support ongoing projects
- 5-7 years of hands-on DBA experience
- Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB
- Expertise in performance tuning, patching, and database builds
- Proficiency in backup and recovery procedures
- Scripting experience with KornShell (Unix/Linux) and PowerShell (Windows)
- Experience with ServiceNow
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in a utility or SCADA environment
- Microsoft or Oracle certifications (e.g., OCP)
- Experience with scripting and automation tools
