Summary: DBAs manage and maintain databases, ensuring performance, security, and availability. They optimize database systems and support application development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain database systems.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Ensure database security and access controls.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and errors.
  • Collaborate with developers to support applications.
  • Maintain database documentation and standards.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience as a DBA.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and security practices.

Preferred Skills/Duties:

  • Certifications such as Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with cloud database solutions.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
  • Ability to design and implement high-availability systems.
