Position Title: Database Administrator – Consultant (10588)

Location: Columbia, SC 29201

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)

Interview Process: 1 Round – Virtual/Online

Consultant Location Requirement: Candidates must be South Carolina residents (no relocation allowed)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and administer Oracle databases (11g and 12c environments)
• Perform database installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance
• Analyze and optimize database performance, including indexing and tuning
• Design and implement database structures, data models, and storage solutions
• Execute backup and recovery strategies using RMAN
• Deploy and support Oracle technologies including:
• Oracle Data Guard
• Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM)
• Oracle ACFS
• Oracle GoldenGate
• Conduct capacity planning, scaling, and performance analysis
• Collaborate with development teams to support application requirements
• Ensure adherence to SDLC processes and operational best practices
• Support high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Oracle RAC)
• Participate in ITIL/ITSM-driven service management processes
• Maintain documentation and provide technical support as needed
  
  

Required Skills

• Bachelor''s Degree in a technical or business field
• 7 years of experience in a Development or Service Administration role
• Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration (11g/12c)
• Experience with RMAN backup and recovery
• Hands-on experience with Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle RAC, and Oracle installations
• 5 years of experience working with development teams
• Exposure to ITIL / ITSM / Managed Services / DevOps / SOA operational models
• Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization
• Experience in database design, data modeling, and capacity planning
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
